I first started collecting key rings when we attended our first Canathon at the Central Coast
in NSW. There were several beer key rings available at the Canathon so I picked up quite a
few. From there I decided that I would collect them from places that we visited while on
our holiday. Friends and family then started collecting them for me as well.
A few years later, at a meeting in Albany, one of our members put some playing cards on
the raffle table and so began the card collection. We often drive to Canathons and would
spend many hours in the car sorting cards into categories. I especially like my dog cards
but have many others. They include beer, whisky, coca cola, advertising, airlines, shipping,
sport, flowers to name just a few.
M&M figurines have become a large part of my collecting. That is another collection that
started from a raffle table at a meeting. I picked up a couple in raffles, then when we went
to the Adelaide Canathon I picked some up in the after Christmas sales for half price. And
so another collection began!
